Spend three days at the Sitka Center for Art & Ecology exploring the chromatic universe of the fungi kingdom. Located on the Oregon Coast, Sitka provides time and space for place-based creation at the intersection of art and ecology. During the three day workshop you will be inspired by a day in the forest, learning about the mycological world. Working in the studio you will extract dyes and pigments from mushrooms to make paints and inks. You will leave with an understanding of how to find, forage and identify dye mushrooms, a color chart with wool fiber samples, hand-dyed bandana, pigment, paint and ink samples and an instructional craft notebook.
