Discover the alchemy of natural dyes with botanical printing using plants grown at Bloom & Dye. The serendipity of painting with plants combined with the ancient traditions of natural dyes yields unique and colorful results. We will be exploring a variety of ways to work with natural dyes; creating botanical bundles, making dye baths and printing with plant pigments to create and capture the beauty of the seasonal palette. Each participant will receive a variety of different natural fibers to dye including wool, silk and linen fabrics and mini skeins for either knitting or embroidery. Everyone will try their hand at different Japanese shibori traditions and create unique designs by steaming, printing and painting your custom dyed large silk kerchief. The instructional craftbook will allow everyone to continue their exploration at home. 

The workshop is limited to 12 participants and the entire fee (less a $15 materials cost) benefits Art Smart to foster arts education in Trout Lake and the surrounding communities.
