In the summer months when the sulfur cosmos are blooming I start my mornings walking by the blooms, admiring their beauty watching the pollinators as they meticulously work each bloom. It is my absolute favorite dye flower on the farm and a good thing because when they bloom they need to be harvested almost everyday! This is a perfect beginner dye plant to grow in your garden. These little blooms pack a potent punch and create the most brilliant oranges to soft yellows to pale tangerine, greens and browns. It is perfect for bundle dyeing, making pigments and creating paint. The package contains 25g of sulfur cosmos and will dye ~250g of fiber. For medium shades use 25% weight of fiber. All flowers are organically grown, hand harvested and dried in the Trout Lake summer heat. They come in a compostable package, just remove the tin tab, and return it to the soil.
